CONVTOSOMETHING.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

ConvToSomething is built to need as little of your data as technically possible. Most tools never send your files anywhere at all. This policy explains exactly what is and isn't processed, and by whom.

Who runs this site

ConvToSomething is operated by Olaf Maliszewski, an individual based in Poland, acting as the data controller for the limited processing described here. You can reach the operator at contact@olafmaliszewski.pl.

Tools that run entirely in your browser

The large majority of tools on this site - every image, text, calculator and most PDF tools - run 100% inside your own web browser using its built-in processing. The files and text you work with are never uploaded, never transmitted, and never seen by any server. There is nothing for us to store, log, or delete, because your content never leaves your device.

The one exception: PDF to Word

Converting a PDF into an editable Word document requires processing that browsers cannot yet do well, so the PDF to Word tool is the single feature that uses a server. When you use it, your PDF is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our server, converted, and the resulting document is sent straight back to you.

The uploaded PDF and the generated Word file are deleted from the server the instant your download is delivered. A background process additionally removes anything left behind by an interrupted transfer within fifteen minutes. The contents of your document are never logged, inspected, or retained. The tool's page states this clearly before you upload.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics tool (Umami) to understand which pages are used and where visitors come from, in aggregate. It sets no cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect data that identifies you personally. It records anonymous, aggregated signals such as page views, referring sites, and approximate country. No advertising or third-party trackers are loaded anywhere on the site.

What is stored in your browser

The site stores one small preference in your browser's local storage: your chosen colour theme (light, dark, or automatic). This never leaves your device and is not sent to any server. No tracking cookies are set.

Data we do not collect

There are no user accounts and no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal detail to use the tools. We do not sell, rent, or share data with anyone, because we do not collect it in the first place.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights over any personal data an operator holds about you, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. In practice we hold essentially none - the analytics are anonymous and the tools store nothing - but if you have any question or request, contact contact@olafmaliszewski.pl and it will be handled.

Children

The site is a general-purpose set of utilities and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Because the site collects so little, material changes are unlikely.
