How to convert PNG to JPG
Add your PNG files
Drag and drop images anywhere in the box, click to browse, or paste them straight from your clipboard. Add as many as you like.
Set quality and background
JPG cannot store transparency, so pick the background color for any transparent areas. The quality slider controls the balance between file size and detail.
Convert and download
Click Convert. Every file is processed on your own device in about a second, then download them one by one or all at once as a ZIP.
PNG to JPG questions, answered
What happens to the transparent background?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid color during conversion. White is used by default, and you can pick any other color in the settings panel before converting.
Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so some fine detail is discarded to make the file smaller. At the default quality of 85 the difference is invisible for most photos. For text, line art, or screenshots where crisp edges matter, PNG is usually the better format to keep.
Why is the JPG so much smaller than my PNG?
PNG stores every pixel losslessly, while JPG compresses by removing detail your eyes barely notice. For photographs this often shrinks files by 5 to 10 times, which is exactly why JPG is the standard for photos on the web.
What quality setting should I use?
85 is a good default: small files with no visible difference for typical photos. Use 90 or higher when you plan to edit the image again later, and 60 to 75 when the smallest possible file matters more than perfect detail.
Can I convert many PNG files at once?
Yes. Add any number of files and convert them in one go, then download everything as a ZIP. There is no file count limit and no size cap beyond what your device can handle.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser using a built-in encoder. Your files never leave your device, which is also why there is no upload wait.
