How to convert HEIC to JPG

Add your HEIC files

Drag and drop photos anywhere in the box, click to browse, or paste them straight from your clipboard. Add as many as you like.

Adjust quality if you need to

The default quality of 85 keeps photos looking identical while producing reasonable file sizes. You can also resize or rotate during conversion.

Convert and download

Click Convert. Decoding HEIC takes a moment longer than other formats, then download your JPGs one by one or all at once as a ZIP.

HEIC to JPG questions, answered

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the format iPhones and iPads use for photos by default since iOS 11. It stores excellent quality in about half the space of JPG, but many programs, websites and older devices cannot open it.

Why will nothing open my HEIC photos?

Windows, older Android phones, many web forms and most desktop software either need extra codecs or simply do not support HEIC. Converting to JPG gives you a file that works everywhere, from any browser to a print shop.

Does converting lose quality?

JPG is lossy, so the photo is re-compressed. At the default quality of 85 the difference is invisible in normal viewing. Raise the slider to 95 if you plan to edit the photo afterwards.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No, and for personal photos this matters. The HEIC decoder runs entirely inside your browser, so your pictures never leave your device and nothing is stored on any server.

Why does conversion take a moment?

HEIC uses heavyweight compression that takes more work to decode than JPG or PNG. A large photo can take a second or two. Everything still happens locally on your device.

Can I convert a whole batch from my iPhone?

Yes. Select as many photos as you like, convert them in one go, and download everything as a ZIP. There is no file count limit.
