How to convert WebP to JPG

Add your WebP files

Drag and drop images anywhere in the box, click to browse, or paste them straight from your clipboard. Batches are fine.

Pick a quality if you need to

The default quality of 85 looks identical to the original for photos. If the WebP has transparency, choose the background color it should be flattened onto.

Convert and download

Click Convert. Everything is processed on your own device, then download files one by one or all together as a ZIP.

WebP to JPG questions, answered

Why do images I save from websites end up as WebP?

Most sites now serve WebP because it is smaller and faster to load, so right-click and save often hands you a .webp file. Converting it to JPG gives you a file that every uploader, editor and device accepts.

Should I convert WebP to JPG or PNG?

JPG is the right choice for photos and anything destined for an upload form, and it keeps files small. Choose PNG instead when the image has transparency you need to keep, or when it is a graphic with sharp text and flat colors.

Does the conversion lose quality?

JPG is lossy, so the image is re-compressed once. At the default quality of 85 the difference is invisible in normal viewing. Raise the slider if you plan heavy editing afterwards, or lower it to squeeze the file size.

What happens to transparency?

JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are flattened onto a background color. White is the default and you can pick any color in the JPG settings before converting.

What about animated WebP files?

Only the first frame is converted, because JPG is a still image format. For an animation, converting to a video or GIF is the better route.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The converter runs entirely inside your browser, so your files never leave your device and nothing is stored anywhere.
